Il Ponticello, Italian for Little Bridge, is the ideal place for the hip and young to enjoy succulent Italian cuisine. The Philippine Tatler has awarded them ?Philippines? Best Restaurants? for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011. The ambient lighting highlights its newly renovated interior. Service is speedy and unobtrusive.
Now for the good stuff: The food! Il Ponticello (Ponti for short) serves Authentic Italian cuisine, in all their categories. Bite off from their best selling dishes like the Gorgonzolla Pizza ? Gorgonzola cheese with porcini mushrooms, cheesy with umami flavor on fresh baked crust. Their Boscaiola Risotto has Italian luganeghe and porcini mushrooms to complement competently cooked Arborio rice.
The Branzino Al Cartoccio is straightforward and sumptuous being a fine piece of baked sea bass. Their Secondi is served with herb roasted vegetables like Arrosto D?Agnello which is arresting being a Roman specialty of oven baked leg of lamb in red wine sauce.
For those who enjoy their night life, Ponti serves hard-hitting cocktails like the Azzurri, Bachi, Bend Me Over and Coco-Lychee. There are also Assembly Line shots like the Italian Flag and the Bikini Bottom that you take one after another. If you want to get sauced, this is the place to be!
